Multi digestive enzymes with proline specific proteases assists in the breakdown of gluten and dairy foods.

Zymax is formulated to enhance digestion, support nutrient uptake and intestinal health by reducing the exposure to potentially toxic peptides and the impact of the incomplete digestion of dairy (casein) and wheat (gluten) products.

Zymax contains three fungal proteolytic enzyme systems [including a protease with DPPIV type activity, a protease with PEP activity and an aspartic (pepsin type)], a cysteine protease (bromelain), amylase, lipase and lactase.

It is well known that proline rich dietary proteins such as casein in bovine milk and gluten in cereals resist proteolytic degradation in the human GIT. As a result proline rich peptide fragments can build up and may lead to undesirable effects in specific groups of individuals.

Short chain proline rich bio-active peptides called exorphins such as casomorphins produced from casein and gluteomorhins from gluten display potent opioid activities. An accumulation of these exorphins in the ENS and CNS may be a contributing factor with some individuals presenting with fatique, confusion and mood disorders.

Newly identified long chain gluten derived proline and glutamine rich polypeptides are now thought to be potentially toxic to groups of individuals.

Zymax is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Can be taken after food or on an empty stomach. It is odourless and mixes well with drinks.
