FOOD AS MEDICINE
Phycocyanin is the primary active ingredient in spirulina, and has been shown to be powerful adaptive immune enhancer and anti-inflammatory.
The blue petals of butterfly pea flowers are rich in anthocyanins, while elderberry and ginger have long been used as immune boosters to help the body fight off cold and flu symptoms.
HOW TO USE:
IMMUNITY LATTE:
Add 1-2 tsp to 1 cup of hot milk of any kind, or serve with cold milk over ice.
SMOOTHIE:
Add 1-2 tsp to a blender with 1 frozen banana, 1 cup milk, 1 cup water, 1tbsp seeds (ie. chia, flax) & if desired, protein of choice.
FOOD DYE:
For icing, baked goods, yoghurt etc.
Add incrementally until desired colour is reached.
